ALLENDALE

1920s Pasadena Eclectic Spanish Revival

How can we describe these clients? They had a Prince topper on their Christmas tree! They also had a great attitude and a sense of humor throughout the process, and they weren’t afraid of color. Hive Home wanted to preserve the home’s beautiful historical architectural elements: dark stained built-ins, exposed beams, french doors, and the amazing arched fireplace. When we first walked in we knew right away we wanted to paint the dining room a saturated terra cotta. We wanted to draw your eye into the space (sort of a “what’s back there?” moment). We didn’t stick to any specific era or style throughout, but rather tied the spaces and eclectic vintage pieces together with bespoke upholstery, bold color, and cozy materials. This Hive Home Pasadena interior design project was featured in Home with Rue by Kelli Lamb.
