14TH ST
This magical little bungalow is the stuff that Hive Home’s dreams are made of. Nestled between giant 3-story construction sites in Manhattan Beach sits this adorable bungalow. Lean your surfboard outside and put your feet up! Photos by Amy Bartlam

MENTOR
What would Hive want their own bedrooms to look like? Please see tent below. The canvas tent was engineered by Jess complete with patches from National Parks and Grandpa’s scout sash. The wallpaper was one of the first decisions for both rooms and we layered with color and texture. Photos by Annie Meisel Photography.

BEN AVE
We worked with the talented woman-owned contractor team (Lumax Construction) to thoughtfully modernize this charming 1930s cottage kitchen. We envisioned a kitchen with all the modern trappings hidden in plain site, but scaled and suited for this classic home. Photos by Amy Bartlam.

EASY ST
Our Chef client didn’t cook in her OWN kitchen! We added a lot of natural texture: Heath tile backsplash, stone textured porcelain floor tiles, and cabinet fronts by a local woman-owned company, Mix-it-Modern. We even had room to carve out a little breakfast nook for morning coffees. Photos by Amy Bartlam.

SHOREHEIGHTS
Hive Home removed some stark modern elements that had been added to this Malibu cliff home, and enlivened it with colorful textiles and rich textures. It’s pretty hard to compete with the view but we couldn’t get the sun to shine on photo day, so you’ll never know! Photos by Amy Bartlam.

ST ALBANS
Marrying the clients’ east coast ‘Hamptons’ aesthetic with the rich California architectural history of the neighborhood Hive Home made a space for both working and entertaining in this little San Marino pool house. New custom built ins make plenty of office storage. A new kitchenette is just enough for hosting gatherings. Photos by Amy Bartlam.

CUMPSTON
Hive Home added rustic warmth to a young family's Sherman Oaks ranch. Mixed materials and textures layered over the home's modern renovations added earthiness and life. Photos by Amy Bartlam.

MANDEVILLE CANYON
Hive Home helped our wonderful clients with a move from a townhome to a new house: what to keep, what to reupholster, what to donate, and what to prioritize to make the most of their budget. Charming fabrics, whimsical wallpaper, and a happy patterned tile outside spark conversation and keep their home from feeling too serious!

14TH ST
Hive Home was delighted to help former clients in Santa Monica update a guest room into a feminine office and bathroom. Basketweave tile and a custom vintage dresser-turned-vanity are classic touches against the bold botanical wallpaper in the bath. Photos by Amy Bartlam.

GOWER
Our client was ready for a cohesive, contemporary lounge and work space. Hive Home created dining and work areas that openly flow with the living room. The finished result is a mod homage to 50's sci-fi and a backdrop for the client's vibrant collection of graphic art. May he live long and prosper. Photos by Amy Bartlam.

MOXIE RIDGE FARMSTAY
When our friend, farmer, and cheesemaker extraordinaire told us he needed help renovating his new 200-year old farmhouse in Upstate NY Hive Home couldn't WAIT to get our hands dirty. With just 7 days, a modest budget and a lot of elbow grease Hive helped get the farmhouse livable while also experiencing the magic of Moxie: harvesting pastel eggs, meeting the draft horses, frolicking with baby goats, and watching the sun sink over the Adirondack horizon from the porch with a cold beer. Heaven!

KINGS RD
In West Hollywood Hive Home removed a defunct bar area and the wall between kitchen and living to really open up the space. Please forgive the Covid-era iPhone photography!

THE CASTLE
Hive Home had fun updating this once dark and foreboding laundry room. The Spanish home had a lot of character so we brought in little touches like the Aztec door details, rough iron pulls, AND Kitty got a new hiding spot for the litter box. Photos by Amy Bartlam.

BENEDICT CANYON
Hive Home reworked this Master Bath in Sherman Oaks, CA. A deep soaking tub, wood-look floor tile and shiplap keep the polished marble and nickel finishes down-to-earth, resulting in a modern and serene bathroom that feels twice the size!

LEMONA
A young family in Sherman Oaks got an update on their mid century ranch. Working with their eclectic collection of graphic art and adding accessories throughout the home Hive Home helped create a polished nod to 50s-60s California.

14th ST
Hive Home helped young professional in Santa Monica gets a bright, simple, minimal living room with a mid-century feel.

GRAMERCY
Vibrant color and comfortable furnishings create a space for our creative Hollywood clients to unwind and relax.

EDGARTOWN
Before creating Hive Home with Jessica Devon spent 10 years with Rooms and Gardens in Santa Monica, CA creating many beautiful rooms for her design clients, in both private homes and exclusive boutique hotels. One of her favorite projects was the renovation of a 1840 historic home in Martha’s Vineyard. Devon worked remotely to create a cozy New England retreat. This home was featured in renowned architect Patrick Ahearn’s book Timeless, Classic American Architecture for Contemporary Living.
